Autumn Sampler begins the week of October 6! Enrollment begins the week of September 1 and continues through October 3.
sampler, which is offered frequently throughout the year, consists of six weekly one-hour group classes. This unique introductory program provides the opportunity for children to experience piano lessons in a fun and exciting atmosphere with other students of the same age. This "sample" of proper piano lessons helps parents make the important decision to continue with long-term lessons.
sampler for pre-school children ages 3 to 6 encourages social interaction while preparing the child for the learning process. Emphasis is also placed on developing proper behavioral skills and, most importantly, teaching young children to learn to learn. Classes include keyboard awareness, number and letter recognition, basic musical notation, and finger/number/note coordination at the piano.
sampler for older beginners ages 7 to 10 encourages children to become music makers instead of music consumers; interacting with music helps cultivate a love of music and actual musical ability. Classes include musical notation, pre-staff and staff music reading, music theory, as well as ample time playing familiar songs at the piano.
students do not need a piano at home to participate in sampler. The program is designed with enough piano playing time in the class on real, full-sized pianos, so practice at home is unnecessary. Children wishing to continue with lessons after the sampler class must have an acoustic piano in their home.
